We’ve just returned from a week away in Scotland so I wanted to share some pics of the adorable house we stayed in for the first few days (the last few days we spent in a soggy tent in the highlands, so no pics of that chaotic interior).
We headed up last week for Jamie’s cousin’s wedding which was being held at a venue called Comrie Croft. It’s a DiY wedding venue where you can pretty much have whatever kind of wedding you want.
We stayed with Jamie’s parents and Uncle in an old 1930s cottage which belonged to the village nurse back in the day, a couple of miles down the road from the wedding venue which they had rented for the week.
The owners were very thoughtful and had left a basket of goodies and a bunch of flowers.
It was awesome to find that when we finally arrived after a 10.5 hour drive (should have taken about 7 hours but traffic was arse) they had left us the best room – the upstairs loft conversion with ensuite and lounge area. YASS.

The house has been recently done up to really high spec and is super sweet and comfortable with lots of thought put into making it cosy and pretty.
It’s been decorated very much in the Scandi style. I don’t shop at IKEA much so it could be straight out of an IKEA catalogue for all I know, but it’s very well done.

The bathroom upstairs was super modern; grey glass tiles and a fabulous shower with FOUR different spray nozzle options. Drool. Also, a beautiful view out of the Velux windows over the village.

The bedroom was so comfortable. It had loads of storage and the mattress was seriously deep. It’s totally not my colour scheme, but I really like what they’ve done and the bedside tables were particularly adorable.

The landing with this lovely grey lounger was the perfect space to chill with a book, as you can see from the imprint of my lounging butt…
There were loads of lovely details in this house that I failed to photograph, and the garden was gorgeous too.
We were only there for a couple of hectic days during the wedding, but it was a lush house and would be perfect for a longer getaway. Especially considering the distance from Bristol!
